As you made it to my blog, you probably already know what a VA, a virtual Assistant is. It's kind of an online personal assistant, who can take care of a lot of things for you. Mostly they work for business owners and are always focused on the business goals of their client. VA's are professionals, trained in the software and services they offer and mostly cheaper and more motivated than a regular employee.
But let's look at the reasons for hiring a Virtual Assistant in a bit more detail:
Working with a VA will ultimately free up some of your valuable time. Use this time to focus on growing your business or spending it wisely on whatever makes you happy. Get back some of your personal time. Time to relax, time to spend with your family or your passion. Time for yourself. What would you do with a couple extra free hours a week?
VA's can take on tasks that are either
a) these annoying little things you don't really want to spend your time with, like creating powerpoint slides or proposals for your next sales pitch or
b) todos that you would have to put in a lot of work to learn and master for yourself, like creating graphic design or websites or
c) will take up a lot of your daily hours just for staying on top of things, like managing your social media or email accounts.
Let your VA take care of all these tasks and go back to running your business and enjoying your life.
You for sure are a crack in running your business, but you might not be gifted with design talent for websites or graphics or you just might not be the perfect social media manager. Trust me, there's someone out there who loves to do all this. Me, for example ;-)
As a VA, I strive to provide you with the best quality work I am able to do and create real value for you. Because my own growth relies on your satisfaction. On your referrals to your network. Knowing this makes me a very reliable, efficient and proactive worker. Also, having multiple clients, I won't spend more time on your projects than necessary, as I want to have enough time to make all my clients happy and, of course, also still have enough time to enjoy life myself!
VA's are independent contractors who are paid by the hour or on a project base. They will invoice you the negotiated fee for their services and that's it. Done. Doesn't that keep things less expensive and way more simple for you? We also do our tax paperwork by ourselves ;-)
And you always get what you pay for. If you pay a Virtual Assistant to work for you for 20 Hours on a monthly basis, that's what you get. You don't have to pay for sick days, you don't have to pay for vacation days. Or for these little cigarette breaks throughout the day. Nope. 20 Hours of work is what you'll get.
And VAs are basically available 24/7. Some VAs, like myself, don't work the typical 9-5 hours. I divide my work and do what's needed every day, spreading the work also over the weekend and whenever I feel like it or my clients need it. Hiring a VA in a different time zone can also be a benefit. Prepare something for your VA over the day and the will finish it while you're asleep. Get up and check the results the next morning. Thank you, Globalization.
But let's take another perspective: Let's say you pay yourself 75 EUR per hour and a VA only costs you 40 EUR per hour. Instead of doing all the little tasks yourself or using your time to learn how to setup an email campaign on MailChimp, let me do it. While you are using your time to do what actually only you can do. Thinking about growing your business and actually doing it. Let's be honest: You can't afford to NOT delegate the mundane and time consuming tasks.
Your Virtual Assistant also has another huge benefit, they're VIRTUAL Assistants. This means you don't have provide an office, internet, a telephone or a computer. That equates to no added expenses for you. VAs supply their office needs at their own expense.
And last but not least, your VA mostly can cover multiple jobs. Most VA's are skilled in multiple areas where you would probably have to hire different people to do the job onside. Additionally, VA's work from their place, wherever that may be, and will be dedicated to your business goals as it means growing their own business as well. So, to be honest, your VA will probably be more motivated than a full-time employee.
You know how business works. Sometimes it's more work, sometimes there's almost nothing to do. But you're always paying for full-time employees to hang out at the office or you're trying to find jobs to keep them busy.
A great way to deal with the ebbs and flows is a Virtual Assistant. You can book them with monthly retainers or by the hour. That gives you the freedom to book more time, when needed and less time, if not.
Coming back to saving time and money... it takes a lot of both to run a business. Now if you also want to take care of your marketing, your website, all social media channels, engaging with your followers - phew, that's a lot of time and effort.
So why not let your VA take care of managing your online presence and keeping it up-to-date. I can create the posts for your instagram and facebook account and even schedule them for you. I can engage with your customers and answer their questions. I can even finalize and schedule blogposts for you. Or update your website whenever necessary.
Your time and effort then would be better spend in improving your products and services, something that actually really helps your customers. Let me set up an online survey to find out what they need and want, so you can do what you do best and make your customers happy.
What do you think? Do you see the benefits, too? What's the main reason you would want to hire your personal Virtual Assistant? What tasks do you already have piled up on your desk but never get to doing them.
